The British Effort

Later on Saturday night we found that it was the left engine itself that had failed because they found metal filings throughout. They immediately began to pull things apart and start cleaning. Gene went over after supper and while he was there a red pick up pulled up with a new engine in the back.

This afternoon he went over and they were almost finished. They planned to test fly tonight and hopefully be off to Oshkosh at first light. We have thunderstorms in the area, so not sure how that will affect their plans.

The outfit doing this is Edward Brothers Aviation in London. Check out their website and go say hello to this extraordinay crew who worked on a hot tarmac for 6 weeks in the Georgia sun to bring this grand old lady back to life.
